Tata Ultra E.7

The Tata Ultra E.7 is a 7.5-tonne GVW electric goods carrier from Tata Motors, sold in India on commercial quotation rather than a listed sticker price. It is a zero-emission, L5N high-speed goods carrier built on a chassis-with-cabin layout with a 3,550 mm wheelbase, Box body option and D+2 seating, aimed at intra-city and last-mile distribution fleets replacing diesel light commercial trucks.

A 96 kWh battery pack powers the Ultra E.7, delivering a claimed range of up to 180 km on a full charge. Charging takes about 1.5-2 hours on the supplied charger, which suits depot-based turnaround rather than mid-route top-ups. With a payload of 3,100 kg, real-world range will sit below the brochure figure on heavy runs, so operators should plan routes with overnight or shift-break charging in mind.

The Ultra E.7 uses a PMSM motor producing 240 kW of power and 950 Nm of torque, with 26% gradeability and a 7,500 kg GVW that leaves 3,100 kg for the payload. It rides on six wheels with 245/70 R17.5 radial tubeless tyres and an E-Axle rear, with hydraulic disc brakes and parabolic suspension with shock absorbers front and rear. Power steering, tilt and telescopic steering, a digital instrument cluster and telematics come as standard.
