The Tata Ace EV is Tata Motors' zero-emission mini truck for last-mile cargo, built on the proven Ace platform with Tata's EVOGEN electric powertrain. Current production is the Ace EV 1000 — India's first electric mini truck rated for a 1,000 kg payload — priced from ₹11.30 lakh for the Flatbed to ₹11.50 lakh for the CLB (ex-showroom).

Range and Charging

A 21.3 kWh LFP battery delivers an ARAI-certified range of 161 km on a single charge, and the 27 kW motor with 130 Nm of torque handles the low-speed, stop-start delivery cycle this truck is built for. A standard AC charge from 10% to 100% takes about 7 hours, ideal for overnight depot charging, while DC fast charging tops the pack from 10% to 80% in roughly 105 minutes for two-shift operations.

Practicality and Features

The Ace EV 1000 comes in two body styles — a Flatbed and a closed CLB (cowl load body) — so buyers match the layout to the cargo they carry. Standard kit includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, reverse camera, tyre pressure monitoring, a digital instrument cluster, power steering and regenerative braking with a disc front / drum rear setup. Fleet Edge telematics bring geo-fencing and vehicle tracking for fleet managers.

Running Cost and Warranty

Tata quotes a running cost of roughly ₹1/km against a multiple of that for a diesel equivalent, which is the truck's core pitch for FMCG, dairy, beverage, LPG, paints and lubricants distribution. The battery carries a 7-year/175,000 km warranty with a 3-year vehicle warranty, backed by over 150 EV support centres nationwide.
