The E-Trio eLCV is a compact all-electric mini truck from Hyderabad-based E-Trio Automobiles, sold in India as a closed box-body goods carrier. The Box Body/180 Cu. Ft variant is priced around Rs 8.25 lakh (on-road), and the truck is built on a 4x2 chassis with a 950 kg gross vehicle weight and a rated 550 kg payload.

Range and charging

The eLCV is certified for a range of up to 115 km on a full charge, drawn from a 20 kWh air-cooled battery pack with stable LFP chemistry running on a 96 V architecture. It charges from a standard 16 A home socket in roughly 6-8 hours (about 480 minutes as per the spec sheet), which suits overnight depot or home charging rather than public fast charging. The battery is managed by a smart BMS with isolation protection and an auto-charging cutoff, and E-Trio backs it with a battery and powertrain warranty of 3 years or 1,00,000 km, while auxiliary components are covered for 1 year or 60,000 km.

Performance and payload

A 30 kW high-efficiency motor driving a compact e-axle produces 60 Nm of torque, a top speed of 60 km/h and a 12.5% gradeability. The 4x2 truck measures 3140 mm long, 1800 mm wide and 1470 mm tall, with 180 mm ground clearance, independent front suspension and multi-leaf springs at the rear. Regenerative brakes, ABS, fog lights, tubeless tyres and a driver information display come as standard. The closed 180 cu. ft load body carries the rated 550 kg payload within the 950 kg GVW.

Who should buy it

Fleet operators running fixed intra-city routes such as e-commerce, parcel, food and grocery delivery will find the lowest running cost, provided they can charge overnight from a 16 A socket. The 60 km/h top speed and 115 km certified range keep the eLCV firmly in the city, not on the highway. E-Trio's telematics app adds fleet tracking and connected-vehicle data. For businesses moving from Tata Ace-class internal-combustion mini trucks to electric, the eLCV is a direct swap at a modest upfront premium.
