Switch Mobility IeV4

The Switch Mobility IeV4 is a 3.5-tonne electric light commercial vehicle (eLCV) built for intra-city and last-mile cargo duty. Priced from Rs 15.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 2590/FSD variant, it pairs a 32.2 kWh LFP battery with a 60 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, and carries a 1,750 kg payload inside a 3,490 kg GVW. It targets fleet operators and small transporters who want zero-tailpipe running costs on fixed urban routes.

Range and charging

The 32.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack delivers a claimed range of up to 130 km on a full charge. AC charging takes about 4-5 hours for a full top-up from flat, which suits overnight depot charging; a DC fast charge reaches 80% in around 55 minutes for mid-shift top-ups. The IeV4 also carries a 5-year or 1,50,000 km battery warranty, with a 3-year or 1,50,000 km vehicle warranty.

Performance and payload

A 60 kW PMSM motor produces 230 Nm of torque and an 80 km/h top speed, with 22% gradeability for ramps and loading docks. The chassis rides on a 2,590 mm wheelbase with a 2,951 mm cargo deck length and 206 mm ground clearance, on 7.00 R15 LT 12 PR radial tyres. It has disc and drum brakes with ABS, parabolic leaf front and semi-elliptical leaf rear suspension, automatic single-speed transmission, electric power steering, hill hold assist and a D+2 seating layout.

The IeV4 suits e-commerce, FMCG and intra-city distribution operators running predictable daily loops who can charge overnight. The 130 km range and 60 kW motor are honest limits for urban delivery work rather than long-haul; businesses moving up to 1.75 tonnes per trip with scheduled routes will extract the best cost per kilometre. Fleet buyers should verify the final on-road price and service network coverage in their city with a dealer before committing.
