Olectra Meghaetron Electric Tipper

The Olectra Meghaetron Electric Tipper is India's first homologated battery-electric heavy-duty tipper, built on Olectra Greentech's heavy-duty electric tipper platform. A 28-tonne (28,000 kg GVW) 6x4 dumper, it is offered in rock and box load body configurations for construction, cement, mining and industrial-goods haulage, priced at ₹1.54 crore (ex-showroom).

Battery, Range and Charging

A liquid-cooled 270 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) pack delivers a claimed range of 120-150 km on a single charge, with the drivetrain offering regenerative braking. DC fast charging via a 180 kW CCS-2 dual-gun charger refills the pack in about 2-3 hours (120 minutes on the fast-charge spec). The battery is built to AIS-038 safety standards with temperature sensors and a battery management system.

Performance and Driving

A 362 hp (270 kW) electric motor produces 2,400 Nm of peak torque, with a top speed of 80 km/h and a gradeability of 18%. Front HD semi-elliptical and rear HD bogie suspension manage load over a 4,975 mm wheelbase, with drum brakes all round, ABS, power steering and a 320 mm ground clearance.

Body Options and Features

Two variants share the same powertrain: the 4975/14/16 m3 Rock Body and the 4975/16/18 m3 Box Body. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, telematics/IoT tracking via a connected app, tiltable steering, a driver information display, fog lamps and seat belts, in a D+1 cab configuration.
