EKA K1.5

The EKA K1.5 is a 1.5-tonne electric mini truck from EKA Mobility, listed from Rs 11.00 lakh (ex-showroom) by TrucksDekho in 2900/Delivery Van and 2900/Eutectic Van body styles. It is built on a ladder-frame chassis with a box body, a 2,900 mm wheelbase and a D+1 day cabin, and it is aimed at intra-city and last-mile goods distribution fleets that want a zero-tailpipe, low-cost-per-km vehicle for daily delivery runs.

Range and charging

A 32 kWh lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP) battery pack powers the K1.5, delivering a claimed range of 180 km on a single charge. The supplied wall-mounted single-phase AC charger tops the pack up in around 4 hours, which suits overnight depot charging for a one-shift city truck rather than mid-day fast top-ups. There is no DC fast-charge option listed, so operators should plan around a nightly charge cycle.

Performance and payload

A permanent magnet synchronous (PMS) motor produces 60 kW peak power and 220 Nm of torque, good for a 70 km/h top speed and 18% gradeability. It carries up to 1,500 kg within its 2,510 kg GVW, riding on MacPherson independent front suspension and longitudinal leaf springs at the rear, with front disc and rear drum brakes, hill hold assist and a 1-forward/1-reverse automatic gearbox. The 2900/Eutectic Van adds a refrigerated body for cold-chain work.
