The Blue Energy BEM 5548e EV is a made-in-India electric heavy-duty tractor unit (L5N high-speed goods carrier) built on Blue Energy Motors' BEAT platform. Unveiled in December 2025 at the company's Chakan facility, it is India's first electric heavy-duty tractor truck with module-to-bracket swappable battery technology.

Battery & Range

A 282 kWh LFP battery pack (module-to-bracket, scalable from 282 to 423 kWh) delivers a claimed range of 200 km. Energy is replenished by swapping, charging and regeneration during coasting and braking, with 5-stage regeneration helping recover energy on long descents.

Charging & Battery Swap

The battery can be fast-charged from 20% to 80% SoC in about 45 minutes via CCS2 dual-gun DC fast charging, with a full charge in under 60 minutes. Three swappable packs can be exchanged in under five minutes at Blue Energy's fully automated, voice-enabled battery-swap stations, which is the intended answer to long-haul downtime.
