The Volvo EX90 is Volvo Cars' flagship all-electric 7-seater luxury SUV, positioned as the electric successor to the XC90 and built on the dedicated SPA2 EV architecture. Powered by a 111 kWh battery pack with dual-motor all-wheel drive, it is expected to launch in India in September 2026 as a CKD unit, joining the EX30 and EC40 in Volvo India's electric lineup.
Price & Variants
Expected to be priced between Rs 1.00 crore and Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom) in two variants — Twin Motor (408 bhp) and Twin Motor Performance (517 bhp).
Battery & Range
The 111 kWh pack delivers a claimed WLTP range of up to 600 km. DC fast charging (250 kW) tops up the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in about 30 minutes, while an 11 kW AC charger takes about 11 hours for a full charge.
Performance
Twin Motor variants produce 408 bhp and 770 Nm, sprinting 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The Twin Motor Performance produces 517 bhp and 910 Nm, doing the sprint in 4.9 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h.
Safety & Technology
The EX90 is the safest Volvo ever built, featuring a standard LiDAR unit, 8 cameras, 5 radars and 16 ultrasonic sensors for Level 3-capable ADAS. Inside, a 14.5-inch portrait touchscreen runs Google built-in with 5G connectivity, OTA updates and sustainable materials including recycled steel and bio-based plastics.
Dimensions & Practicality
Measuring 5,037 mm long, 1,964 mm wide and 1,744 mm tall on a 2,985 mm wheelbase, the seven-seater offers 310 litres of boot space with all seats up, expandable to 1,915 litres.
