The MG Windsor EV is among India's best-selling electric vehicles, blending quirky CUV styling with a genuinely spacious cabin and a long feature list at an ex-showroom price between Rs 14.7 lakh and Rs 19 lakh. It is offered with two battery packs — 38 kWh and 52.9 kWh — with claimed ranges of 332 km and 449 km respectively.
Range & Charging
The 38 kWh pack is rated for a claimed 332 km, while the 52.9 kWh Pro pack stretches to 449 km. Both charge through a CCS-II port: the 38 kWh pack takes about 45 minutes for a 20-80 per cent DC fast charge on an up-to-45 kW charger, and the Pro pack about 50 minutes on an up-to-60 kW charger. A 7.4 kW AC wall box charges the 38 kWh pack in about 7 hours and the Pro pack in about 9.5 hours.
Performance & Driving
A permanent-magnet synchronous motor produces 134 bhp and 200 Nm, driving the front wheels with a 150 km/h top speed and a 0-100 km/h time of 9.8 seconds. The Windsor rides on a 2,700 mm wheelbase with MacPherson strut front and twist-beam rear suspension, tuned for a relaxed, comfortable ride.
Features & Practicality
The cabin is the Windsor's biggest draw: a 15.6-inch touchscreen, panoramic glass roof, ventilated front seats, 256-colour ambient lighting and a 135-degree reclining rear seat. Boot space is 604 litres on 38 kWh variants and 579 litres on the Pro. Safety includes six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD and TPMS, with Level 2 ADAS on Pro trims.
Who should buy it
The Windsor EV suits families who value space and comfort over driving excitement. A lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, plus the Battery-as-a-Service option that lowers the entry price via a per-kilometre battery rental, makes it flexible across budgets. Highway-heavy buyers should choose the 52.9 kWh Pro pack; city-only drivers can save with the 38 kWh trims.
