The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is Mahindra's most affordable electric SUV, launched in India in January 2026 at Rs 13.89 lakh ex-showroom for the AX5 and Rs 14.96 lakh for the AX7L. It pairs a 39.4 kWh lithium-ion battery with a single front motor producing 147.5 bhp and 310 Nm, with a combined claimed range of 456 km.
Range and charging
The XUV 3XO EV claims up to 456 km on the combined P1+P2 test cycle, with an ARAI-certified figure of 351 km; real-world owners report around 285 km, and over 300 km in city-heavy usage. On a 50 kW DC fast charger it fills from 0-80% in about 50 minutes, while a full AC charge takes about 6 hours 30 minutes on a 7.2 kW wall box.
Performance and driving
The front-mounted motor does 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and tops out at 150 km/h, with Fun, Fast and Fearless drive modes. The 3XO body carries a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, with 190 mm ground clearance, 6 airbags and a 364-litre boot on both trims.
Practicality and features
Both variants come with twin 10.25-inch screens, Adrenox connected-car tech with over 80 features, Apple CarPlay and a 360-degree camera. The top AX7L adds Level 2 ADAS with Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist, plus a 7-speaker Harman Kardon audio with Dolby Atmos and a cooled glovebox.
Who should buy it
First-time EV buyers and city commuters who want a value-for-money compact electric SUV with long-range claims, quick DC charging and a strong safety package. Choose the AX7L if you want Level 2 ADAS and the premium audio; the AX5 keeps it simple at a lower price.
