Mahindra XEV 9e

The Mahindra XEV 9e is the flagship electric SUV-coupe in Mahindra's Electric Origin range, built on the dedicated INGLO (INdia-GLObal) skateboard platform. It is priced from ₹21.9 lakh to ₹31.25 lakh (ex-showroom) and targets premium EV buyers who want long range, fast charging and a technology-heavy cabin in a five-seat SUV.

Range and charging

The XEV 9e is offered with 59 kWh and 79 kWh LFP battery packs, with a claimed range of up to 542 km on the 59 kWh pack and up to 656 km (MIDC) on the 79 kWh pack. It supports 175 kW DC fast charging, taking the battery from 20-80% in about 20 minutes via the CCS-II port. On an 11 kW AC home charger, a full charge takes roughly 6 hours for the 59 kWh pack and 8 hours for the 79 kWh pack.

Performance and driving

A rear-mounted motor produces up to 282 bhp and 380 Nm on the 79 kWh packs, while the 59 kWh packs use a 228 bhp unit. The range-topping Pack One variant manages 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. Semi-active dampers, multi-link rear suspension and 207 mm ground clearance give it a plush, settled ride, and four drive modes — Range, Everyday, Race and Snow — let you balance efficiency and pace.

Features and practicality

The cabin is the big story: a dashboard-spanning triple 12.3-inch screen setup, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, an AR-based head-up display and a 150-litre front trunk. A panoramic sunroof, Apple CarPlay, ventilated cabin kit, six airbags, regenerative braking and a 663-litre boot round out the package. Mahindra also offers connected features through its digital ecosystem.

The XEV 9e is for buyers who want a flagship electric SUV with genuinely quick charging and segment-leading claimed range, without moving to an import.
