Tata Harrier EV is Tata Motors' flagship electric SUV, a battery-electric take on the popular Harrier. It is priced from ₹21.49 lakh to ₹30.23 lakh (ex-showroom) and is offered with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs, with the larger pack available in rear-wheel drive or Tata's first all-wheel-drive (QWD) dual-motor setup. It targets families and enthusiasts who want a long-range electric SUV with genuine driving capability.
Range and charging
The Harrier EV claims up to 538 km on the 65 kWh pack and up to 627 km on the 75 kWh pack in RWD form, while the dual-motor QWD variants claim 622 km. On a 120 kW DC fast charger (CCS-II port), it charges from 20-80% in about 25 minutes. With the bundled 7.2 kW AC wall-box charger, a full 0-100% charge takes roughly 9.3 hours on the 65 kWh pack and 10.7 hours on the 75 kWh pack.
Performance and driving
RWD variants use a single 235 bhp / 315 Nm permanent magnet synchronous motor, while the Empowered QWD adds a second motor for 391 bhp and 504 Nm combined. The Harrier EV does 0-100 km/h in about 6.3 seconds and tops out at 180 km/h. Drive modes cover Eco, City, Sport and Boost, with six terrain modes (Normal, Rock Crawl, Mud & Ruts, Snow & Grass, Sand, Custom) on QWD versions. Multi-link rear suspension, 205 mm ground clearance and regenerative braking complete the package.
Features and practicality
Top variants bring Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, a 14.5-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, auto park assist, summon mode and a gesture-activated power tailgate. The cabin seats five with a 502-litre boot, and safety kit includes up to seven airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, TPMS and hill hold. Tata backs the battery with a 15-year warranty (unlimited km lifetime for the first owner, 2,00,000 km for subsequent owners), with the standard vehicle warranty running 3 years / 1,25,000 km.
Who should buy it
The Tata Harrier EV suits buyers who want a roomy, premium electric SUV with class-leading claimed range and the option of all-wheel drive that few rivals offer. Its 15-year battery warranty and long claimed range make it a strong pick for highway-heavy owners. As with any EV, expect real-world range to sit below the claimed figures.
