The Komaki Ranger is an American-style electric cruiser motorcycle from Delhi-based Komaki, marketed as the only electric cruiser bike sold in India. Priced from Rs 1.30 lakh to Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom), it pairs a triple round-headlight front end, a tall windscreen, wide handlebars and forward-set footpegs with a 5kW BLDC hub motor good for a claimed 80 km/h top speed.
Range and charging
The base Ranger STD runs a 4 kWh lithium-ion battery for a claimed 160-200 km range, while the Fully-Loaded variant claims up to 250 km. Both charge from a standard home socket in about 3-4 hours, with no DC fast-charging support - so the Ranger is set up for overnight charging at home. The battery is covered for 3 years or 30,000 km, whichever comes first.
Performance and driving
A 5kW BLDC hub motor delivers a claimed 80 km/h top speed, with telescopic front forks and an adjustable rear shock tuned for relaxed cruising rather than corner carving. Braking is via a Combi Brake System with a front disc and rear drum - ABS is not offered. A 7-inch TFT display with Bluetooth and navigation, cruise control, multiple power and ride modes and reverse assist are all standard, and the 220 mm ground clearance and two-up seating add to its tourer character.
Who should buy it
The Komaki Ranger is for riders who want cruiser looks and a long claimed range at a budget price, and who ride mainly on relaxed city routes. Real-world range falls well short of the 250 km claim when you push the bike, the authorised service network is thin outside major cities and there is no ABS - weigh those before you commit. If outright performance or cornering is the priority, a sportier electric bike is a better fit.
