Joy e-bike Beast

The Joy e-bike Beast is a full-size electric streetfighter-style motorcycle from Wardwizard's Joy e-bike, powered by a 5 kW BLDC hub motor and a 5.18 kWh (72V 72Ah) fixed lithium-ion battery. It is offered in a single STD variant priced at Rs 2.42 lakh (ex-showroom).

Battery & Range

The Beast packs a 5.18 kWh lithium-ion battery rated for a claimed 110 km on a full charge (ARAI/IDC). It charges from flat to full in about 9 hours using the supplied 10-amp smart charger with over-voltage, temperature and short-circuit protection; there is no DC fast-charge option.

Performance

A 5 kW (5000 W) DC brushless hub motor delivers a rated torque of 230 Nm, pushing the Beast to a claimed top speed of 90 km/h with an 18-degree climbing ability and a 150 kg maximum load. The running cost is quoted at around 40 paise per km.

Ride & Chassis

Built on a 1405 mm wheelbase with hydraulic front forks and a monoshock at the rear, the Beast offers 160 mm ground clearance, a 770 mm seat height and a 115 kg kerb weight. It rolls on 17-inch tubeless alloy wheels shod with a 110/70 front and 140/70 rear tyre, and stops with disc brakes at both ends (dual disc up front per the manufacturer).

Features

Standard equipment includes all-LED lighting, a digital instrument console, push-button start, a split seat, underseat storage and IoT sensors for location tracking and anti-theft alerts.

The Beast is a punchy city and light-highway commuter for riders who want streetfighter looks and strong low-end torque without a petrol bike's running costs. Its 9-hour charge time and the absence of fast charging and ABS mean it suits owners who can charge overnight at home and mostly ride in the city, rather than long-distance tourers.
