Hykon Hetto

The Hykon Hetto is an L5M high-speed passenger carrier electric three-wheeler from Hykon, aimed at last-mile passenger transport in Indian cities. It is a fully built, chassis-with-cabin auto rickshaw with a D+3 seating layout, priced from Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom) and available in the market now.

Range and charging

A 10 kWh lithium-ion battery powers the Hetto, delivering a claimed range of 165 km on a full charge. Charging takes about 8 hours on the standard charger, which suits overnight charging at home or at a depot rather than quick top-ups during the day. The battery runs at 51.2V, and the pack is mounted in a chassis-with-cabin layout shared with the fully built body.

Performance and payload

A permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) produces 12 hp of power and 42 Nm of torque, good for a 55 km/h top speed and a 7% gradeability. The Hetto has a 974 kg gross vehicle weight and a 460 kg kerb weight, with drum brakes, a single-speed transmission and handlebar steering. Dimensions are compact at 2,730 mm long, 1,350 mm wide and 1,805 mm tall, with a 2,110 mm wheelbase, 185 mm ground clearance and a 2.9 m turning radius, making it easy to thread through narrow streets.

The Hetto suits individual auto rickshaw operators and small passenger fleets running predictable intra-city routes with overnight charging.
