EVI Mobility Rydan

The EVI Mobility Rydan is a fully built, three-wheeled electric passenger carrier from EVI Mobility, a Greenway Mobility brand. Sold on enquiry in India, it is built for last-mile passenger transport in both city and semi-urban routes, carrying a driver and three passengers with a payload capacity of 300 kg.

Range and charging

The Rydan runs on a lithium-ion battery offered in fixed and swappable options, with capacity ranging from 5.04 kWh to 10 kWh. It delivers a driving range of 100 to 240 km on a single charge depending on the battery pack and driving cycle. Charging is flexible too. A DC fast charger tops the pack up in around 15 minutes, while a home charger completes a full charge in roughly 4 hours, keeping the vehicle productive across a working day.

Performance and payload

Power comes from a 5 kWh Chara Tech motor producing 5 kW with a peak torque of 22 Nm, mated to a multispeed intelligent drive system with one forward and one reverse gear. The Rydan has a top speed of 50 km/h and an 18 percent gradeability, so flyovers and steep inclines are manageable. It rides on a chassis with a day cabin, a 2050 mm wheelbase, 260 mm ground clearance and R12-Ralco tyres, with telescopic front suspension, independent rear suspension with coil spring dampers, and hydraulic disc brakes. It has a gross vehicle weight of 600 kg, a kerb weight of 300 kg, and a payload of 300 kg.
