OSM Stream City

The OSM Stream City is an electric auto-rickshaw (L5M high-speed passenger carrier) from OSM, priced from Rs 3.01 lakh (ex-showroom) in its single 1940/Electric variant. It is a fully built day-cabin three-wheeler on a chassis-with-cabin layout, aimed at city passenger transport and last-mile mobility in Indian towns and cities.

Range and charging

An 8.5 kWh (48 V) battery pack powers the Stream City and delivers a claimed range of up to 117 km on a full charge. A full charge takes about 4 hours from a standard AC socket; no DC fast-charging figure is published, so overnight or between-shift charging is the practical pattern. The modest pack size keeps per-kilometre running costs low for a daily-shift operator.

Performance and payload

A 10 kW electric motor drives through an automatic transmission (1 forward + 1 reverse gearbox) to a 48 km/h top speed and 430 Nm of torque, with 16% gradeability for flyover ramps and loaded starts. The Stream City carries up to 533 kg of payload within a 950 kg gross vehicle weight (451 kg kerb weight), seats a driver plus three passengers, and measures 2800 x 1320 x 1802 mm on a 1940 mm wheelbase with 175 mm ground clearance and a 2750 mm turning radius. Drum brakes and damper-plus-helical-spring suspension handle city roads, and it rolls on three 4.50-10 8PR low-rolling-resistance tyres.
