The Tata Sierra EV is an electric SUV that revives a legendary Indian nameplate, on sale since June 2026 at ₹18.79 lakh to ₹26.48 lakh (ex-showroom). It blends retro-modern styling with a long-range battery line-up, generous boot space and a choice of rear- or all-wheel drive.
Range and charging
The 63 kWh battery delivers a claimed 535 km, while the 75 kWh pack takes the RWD versions to 665 km and the AWD version to 624 km. Real-world range will run below these figures depending on load, AC use and terrain. On a 120 kW CCS2 fast charger, the Sierra EV goes from 20-80% in about 25-26 minutes; a full 10-100% AC charge takes 8.9 hours.
Performance and driving
Motors range from 253 to 313 bhp with 315-504 Nm of torque. The flagship Empowered A 75 AWD is claimed to hit 0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension, a 205 mm ground clearance and a 5.32 m turning radius make it a composed highway cruiser that is also easy to manage in the city.
Practicality and features
With a 622-litre boot, five seats and a 2730 mm wheelbase, the Sierra EV is a genuine family car. Standard kit includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen, sunroof, six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, cruise control, hill hold, rain-sensing wipers, TPMS and a connected car app. Seven paint shades are offered.
Who should buy it
The Sierra EV is for families wanting a spacious, fast-charging electric SUV with a strong standard-feature list and a real 665 km claimed range. It is road-focused rather than off-road focused, so genuine rough-terrain buyers should look elsewhere. The lifetime 15-year HV battery warranty on eligible private vehicles is a strong ownership story.
