MG Hector Tomahawk EV overview
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV is a three-row electric SUV that JSW MG Motor India launched at a starting price of ₹19.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It sits on the Wuling Starlight 560 base MG sells overseas, and it is the brand's first attempt at a seven-seat EV for Indian families, slotting above the Windsor EV and taking on the Mahindra XEV 9S and the Kia Carens Clavis EV.
Battery, range and charging
Every variant uses the same 69.2 kWh battery pack and a single front-mounted motor making 201 bhp and 310 Nm, with a claimed range of 517 km. A 7.4 kW AC wallbox takes about 12.5 hours for a 10-100 percent charge, while DC fast charging covers 10-80 percent in roughly 35 minutes through a CCS-II port.
Cabin and features
The cabin is built around a 15.6-inch touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital cluster, with a dual-pane sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, a 10-speaker audio setup, wireless Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera and wireless phone charging. Boot space is 610 litres with the third row folded, expanding to 1,053 litres with the second row down.
Safety
Six airbags, ESP, TPMS, ISOFIX mounts and hill descent control are standard, and the SUV carries Level 2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and lane departure warning.
Variants and pricing
Four variants are on sale: Excite 7-Seater at ₹19.49 lakh, Exclusive 7-Seater at ₹21.99 lakh, Essence 5-Seater at ₹22.99 lakh and the top Essence 7-Seater at ₹23.49 lakh, all ex-showroom. Deliveries begin in September 2026.
