The Mercedes-Benz EQS is the flagship electric sedan from Mercedes-Benz in India, positioned as the electric equivalent of the S-Class. It is offered in two 580 4MATIC variants on a 107.8 kWh dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout.
Price & Variants
Priced from Rs 1.30 crore to Rs 1.48 crore (ex-showroom) across two variants - the EQS 580 4MATIC Celebration Edition and the EQS 580 4Matic. The Celebration Edition, limited to 50 units, adds improved rear-seat features and AMG Line styling touches.
Battery & Range
A 107.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack delivers a claimed ARAI range of 813 km for the Celebration Edition and 857 km for the 580 4Matic, the longest-range figure of any EV in India. DC fast charging at 200 kW takes the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 31 minutes, and a 22 kW AC wallbox completes a full charge in roughly 6.4 hours.
Performance
Two permanently excited synchronous motors produce 536 bhp and 858 Nm with all-wheel drive, sprinting 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Adaptive air suspension, a 0.20 drag coefficient and 10-degree rear-axle steering make the 5.2-metre sedan easy to live with, and the top speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h.
Dimensions & Practicality
Measuring 5216 mm in length, 1926 mm in width and 1512 mm in height on a 3210 mm wheelbase, the EQS offers 610 litres of boot space, 110 mm of ground clearance and a 2585 kg kerb weight. The cabin features the 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, Burmester 3D audio and nine airbags with Level 2 ADAS.
