Mercedes-Benz EQA

The Mercedes-Benz EQA is a compact electric SUV based on the GLA, launched in India in July 2024 as the most affordable way into Mercedes-Benz's electric line-up. It was sold in a single EQA 250+ variant at Rs 67.20 lakh (ex-showroom, last recorded) before being discontinued in April 2026. It now matters mainly to buyers considering the EQA on the used or dealer-stock market, against the BMW iX1, Volvo C40 Recharge and Kia EV6.

Battery, range and charging

A 70.5 kWh lithium-ion battery powers a 140 kW (188 bhp) front-axle asynchronous motor, with a WLTP-claimed range of up to 560 km. The EQA charges from 10-80% in about 35 minutes on a 100 kW DC fast charger, and a full 0-100% AC charge on an 11 kW onboard charger takes 7 hours 15 minutes. Mercedes covers the battery for 8 years or 160,000 km.

Performance and driving

The front-wheel-drive EQA does 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and tops out at 160 km/h, with 385 Nm of instant EV torque and four drive modes — Individual, Sport, Comfort and Eco. Level 2 ADAS, regenerative braking and a 5.7-metre turning radius keep it effortless in town.

Features and practicality

Standard kit includes twin 10.25-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, 7 airbags and a 340-litre boot. Measuring 4463 mm x 1834 mm x 1608 mm with a 2729 mm wheelbase, the five-seater offers a 154 mm unladen ground clearance.

Who should buy it

The EQA suits buyers who want the three-pointed star badge, a proper luxury cabin and long claimed range in a compact SUV. With the model discontinued in April 2026, look for remaining stock or well-maintained used examples — and confirm the 8-year / 160,000 km battery warranty still transfers with the car.
