YMC MPV

The Maruti Suzuki YMC MPV is the company's first three-row electric MPV, expected to launch in India by late 2026. Built as a family-first seven-seat MPV, it is expected to be priced between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 25 lakh, positioning it as one of the most accessible electric MPVs in the mass-market segment.

Range and charging

Up to 543 km of claimed range. The YMC MPV is expected with two battery packs: a 49 kWh pack claiming around 440 km and a 61.1 kWh pack claiming around 543 km on a single charge, both figures still to be confirmed by Maruti Suzuki for India.

AC and fast charging. A full AC charge is expected to take roughly 9 hours on the 49 kWh pack and about 11.5 hours on the 61.1 kWh pack, while DC fast charging is expected in around 45 minutes. Charging timings will be finalised closer to launch.

Performance and driving

Rear-wheel-drive layout. The YMC MPV uses a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain, with the 49 kWh version expected to produce around 142 bhp and the 61.1 kWh version around 172 bhp. Regenerative braking is included to help extend real-world range in city traffic.

Practicality and features

A proper family hauler. With seven seats and a 4500 mm overall length, the YMC MPV is aimed squarely at joint-family and chauffeured ownership. The listed feature kit includes a sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, Apple CarPlay, a connected car app, a digital instrument cluster and a reverse camera.

Families who need three rows on a budget. If you need a genuinely seven-seat electric MPV without stepping up to premium prices, the YMC MPV looks like the most accessible option on the horizon. Buyers who prefer confirmed pricing, warranty and real-world range figures should wait for the official specification before booking.
