The Mahindra Vision S is a sub-4-metre SUV concept Mahindra revealed on 15 August 2025 as part of its Vision 2027 showcase. It is the first of four NU_IQ-platform concepts expected to reach production, with series models due from 2027. Because the production car is still testing, Mahindra has not confirmed powertrain, battery, range, price or feature details yet.
Platform and powertrains
The Vision S sits on Mahindra's NU_IQ architecture, a multi-energy platform that can take petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric powertrains with front- or all-wheel drive. The concept carries a fuel lid on the rear fender, which points to combustion power, and outlets report it could use the XUV 3XO's petrol and diesel engines. An electric version is possible later but nothing is confirmed.
Design and size
Mahindra confirms a length under four metres on a 2,665 mm wheelbase, with five seats. The concept wears a boxy, upright shape with pixel-type LED headlights, black bumpers and cladding, a jerry-can holder on the rear glass and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Inside, the show car has a dual-screen dashboard, a three-spoke wheel and a panoramic glass roof.
Testing and launch timeline
A camouflaged prototype has been spied testing since late 2025, including high-altitude runs in Spiti Valley in July 2026 and an interior sighting in early 2026 with a modern dual-screen cabin. Mahindra says NU_IQ production models start in 2027, and outlets expect the Vision S around late 2026 to early 2027, positioned above the XUV 3XO in the Scorpio family.
Who should buy it
Nobody can buy the Vision S yet, and nobody should book around unconfirmed numbers. Wait for Mahindra's official powertrain, price and feature announcements, since those will decide whether it fits against rivals like the Brezza, Nexon, Venue and Sonet.
