The BMW i4 is BMW's electric gran coupe, launched in India on 26 May 2022 as the country's first luxury mid-size electric sedan. It is offered in two rear-wheel-drive M Sport variants — the eDrive35 (70.2 kWh battery, 483 km claimed range) and the eDrive40 (83.9 kWh battery, 590 km claimed range) — priced from ₹72.50 lakh to ₹77.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Two variants are on sale: i4 eDrive35 M Sport at ₹72.50 lakh and i4 eDrive40 M Sport at ₹77.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Both share the same cabin, curved 12.3-inch + 14.9-inch display with BMW Operating System 8, Harman Kardon 17-speaker surround and 8 airbags.
Battery & Range
The eDrive35 uses a 70.2 kWh pack with a claimed range of 483 km, while the eDrive40 steps up to an 83.9 kWh pack for a claimed 590 km. DC fast charging (up to 200 kW) takes 0-80% in about 31 minutes, and an 11 kW AC wall box completes a full charge in roughly 8 hours 20 minutes.
Performance
The eDrive35's rear motor produces 286 PS with 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds, while the eDrive40's 340 PS motor does the sprint in 5.7 seconds. Both are limited to a 190 km/h top speed and feature three drive modes — Comfort, Eco Pro and Sport.
Dimensions & Practicality
At 4783 mm long, 2073 mm wide (including mirrors) and 1448 mm tall with a 2741 mm wheelbase, the i4 seats five and offers a 470-litre boot. Ground clearance is a sedan-typical 125 mm. The battery carries an 8-year/1,60,000 km warranty.
