Storage Innovation: 70 Litres Across Three Distinct Zones

Storage on typical family scooters usually forces a compromise between helmet space and grocery carrying. The Simple Wave resolves this by dividing its cargo layout across three accessible compartments:

  1. 63-Litre Main Under-Seat Tub: Deep and wide enough to store two standard adult full-face helmets side by side, or carry multiple large grocery sacks simultaneously.

  2. 4-Litre Side "Pill Storage": An auxiliary compartment built into the side bodywork. It is opened directly using the physical key, allowing riders to grab rain ponchos, a first-aid kit, or tool pouches without lifting the main seat.

  3. 3-Litre Apron Glove Box: Positioned on the front apron with a sealed lid and an integrated USB charging port for smartphones and wallets.

Everyday Comfort & Safety Engineering

  • Extended Saddle Ergonomics: With a length of 920 mm, the seat is the longest in its class, leaving plenty of space for an adult pillion alongside school bags. A low 775 mm seat height ensures easy footing for riders of varied statures.

  • Hushdrive Electric Motor: Uses a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) engineered without heavy rare-earth elements, paired with a quiet drivetrain for smooth acceleration.

  • Safety Systems:

    • Drop Safe: Instantly cuts power supply to the electric motor if onboard tilt sensors detect a steep lean or accidental tip-over.

    • Limp Home Mode: Reserves emergency power when the battery drops under 5%, allowing riders to travel safely at low speeds to reach a charging point.

    • Crawl & Reverse Assist: Simplifies parking lot navigation, steep ramp reversing, and tight pavement maneuvering.

    • Chassis & Suspension: Constructed around a high-tensile tubular steel frame supported by telescopic front forks and twin progressive rear shock absorbers, providing 175 mm of ground clearance.

Charging Time & Battery Chemistry

Simple Energy employs a dual-chemistry strategy across the lineup:

  • LFP Chemistry (2.2 kWh & 2.7 kWh): Offers high thermal stability and extended charge-discharge cycle life, well-suited for high-temperature Indian climates.

  • NCA Chemistry (3.7 kWh & 5.0 kWh): Maximises energy density within a compact frame, enabling the top-spec Wave Plus to deliver 243 km IDC without adding excessive structural bulk.

Fast charging allows the battery to replenish from 0% to 80% in approximately 70 minutes via compatible fast chargers. Using a standard 15A home wall socket, regular charging takes between 2.5 to 5 hours depending on the specific battery pack size.

Final Take

With 70 litres of smart storage, four battery choices, top speeds up to 90 km/h, and an accessible ₹1.10 Lakh entry point, the Simple Wave presents a focused, highly practical package for everyday family commutes. The key to its market success will now rest on smooth delivery execution and nationwide dealership expansion starting this September.
