The Atumobile Atum Version 1.0 is a retro-styled, made-in-India low-speed electric bike built around a high-carbon steel tubular frame. With its top speed capped at 25 km/h it rides as a licence-exempt e-bike while still offering a claimed 100 km range per charge, making it one of the most affordable electric bikes in the country at ₹61,500 (ex-showroom).

Battery, Range and Charging

A swappable 0.34 kWh (48V) lithium-ion battery powers the Atum Version 1.0 with a claimed range of up to 100 km per charge. It fills from 0-100% in about 3-4 hours using the included 336W charger, and carries a 2-year battery warranty. There is no DC fast charging, but because the pack is removable you can charge it at home, at work or swap to a spare.

Performance and Driving

A 250W hub motor delivers a top speed of 25 km/h, which classifies the Atum Version 1.0 as a low-speed e-bike — no licence, road tax or registration needed. Front and rear disc brakes, a telescopic front fork and a hardtail rear frame (no rear shock absorber) keep the bike simple, light and low-maintenance, at a 51 kg kerb weight.

Practicality and Features

A 750 mm seat height and 280 mm ground clearance suit city roads and tight parking. A lockable 14-litre storage compartment replaces the fuel-tank area for small carry-ons, all lighting is LED, and a digital instrument cluster shows ride data. It is a single-seater, offered in five colours — Black, Blue, Grey, Orange and White.

Who should buy the Atum Version 1.0

The Atum Version 1.0 suits first-time riders, students and commuters who want a cheap, licence-free way to cover short city trips. Skip it if you need to carry a pillion, ride faster than 25 km/h or want rear suspension comfort — this is strictly a solo, low-speed runabout.
