The Tejas Passenger Open Body is a three-wheeled passenger e-rickshaw for city and feeder routes. Classified as an L3M (Low Speed Passenger Carrier), it combines an open passenger deck, a chassis with cabin, and a governed top speed of 25 km/h.
Battery and Range
A 120 Ah battery bank (roughly 5.76 kWh usable at 48V) delivers a range of 85-100 km per charge. The 900 Watt electric motor and automatic transmission keep running costs low, and a full recharge takes 6-8 hours overnight.
Comfort and Build
The Tejas seats a driver plus four passengers with a GVW of 800 kg and kerb weight of 380 kg. A leaf-spring front suspension and hydraulic telescopic rear shock absorbers handle rough roads, while drum brakes and a 180 mm ground clearance keep it stable and safe.
Performance and Handling
With an 18% gradeability rating, it copes with flyover ramps and gradients better than many rivals. Handle-bar steering, a digital driver information display and a 4300 mm turning radius make it easy to operate in crowded markets and narrow lanes.
