The Kuku Automotives School Van is a fully-built electric school shuttle from Jaipur-based Kuku Automotives, designed to carry children safely on short daily routes. It pairs a 1000 W electric motor with a lead-acid battery pack for an operating range of about 50 km.
Safety and layout
The van is classified as a high-speed passenger carrier (L5M) and comes with a closed body, chassis-with-cabin construction and seating for a driver plus up to a dozen children in 4- and 6-seater configurations. Its 1000 W motor delivers around 2 hp, and the drivetrain is fully automatic for simple driving.
Charging and running costs
A full charge from a standard 240V socket takes 7-8 hours, giving an operating range of about 50 km — enough for several school pick-up and drop-off runs. The 100 Ah pack is replaceable, keeping daily running costs well below petrol or diesel alternatives.
Dimensions and price
Measuring 2600 mm long, 1000 mm wide and 1750 mm tall with a 310 kg GVW, the van is compact enough for narrow lanes. Priced from about ₹1.72 Lakh, it is positioned as a low-cost, zero-emission school transport option.
