It is positioned as a budget, value-for-money option for owner-drivers and small fleet operators across rural and urban India, priced at ₹1.00 lakh (ex-showroom) in a single 4-Seater/Electric variant.

Battery, Range and Charging

A 60V/135Ah battery (about 8.1 kWh) powers the Saarthi DLX with a claimed range of up to 120 km per charge. Charging is standard AC from a wall socket, taking roughly 4-5 hours (about 270 minutes) for a full charge — there is no DC fast-charge option, so the DLX is best planned around overnight or shift-break charging.

Performance and Driving

A 1000 W electric motor (about 1 bhp) driven by a 50 Amp 24-tube controller delivers a 25 km/h top speed, typical of an L3M low-speed passenger carrier, with an automatic 1 Forward + 1 Reverse gearbox and rear-wheel drive. A 3000 mm turning radius helps manoeuvre in narrow lanes and congested bazaars.

Practicality, Comfort and Features

The DLX measures 2730 mm x 980 mm x 1725 mm (LxWxH) with 170 mm ground clearance and a 1980 mm wheelbase, and seats a D+4 configuration — driver plus four passengers. GVW is 650 kg. It runs on drum brakes with a digital instrument cluster, a metal roof, wide windshield and grab handles, with hydraulic front shock absorbers and leaf-spring telescopic rear suspension for a settled ride on uneven roads.

Buyers who run short fixed routes in cities or villages, want a low purchase price and are comfortable with a 25 km/h top speed and AC-only charging will find the Saarthi DLX a sensible, budget e-rickshaw. It suits owner-drivers and small fleets, but the 25 km/h cap and drum-brake-only setup make it less suited to fast multi-lane roads or heavy hilly duty.
