Joy E-Rik V1 MS

The Joy E-Rik V1 MS is an electric three-wheeler from Joy e-bike's commercial line, priced from Rs 3.90 lakh (ex-showroom). An L5M high-speed passenger carrier with a fully built chassis-with-cabin body, it seats a driver plus three passengers and is aimed at city commuter runs and short-distance passenger routes where running costs decide the business.

Range and charging

The MS is powered by a 64 V, 100 Ah lithium-ion battery pack that delivers a claimed range of 85 to 90 km on a full charge. A standard charge takes around 3.5 to 4 hours to top up, so it suits overnight charging at home or at a depot between shifts.

Performance and payload

A 6.8 kW PMSM/AC synchronous motor producing 17 Nm of torque gives a top speed of 45 km/h and 7% gradeability, enough for flat city work and gentle flyover ramps.
