The Bajaj Maxima XL Cargo E-TEC 9.0 is an electric cargo three-wheeler built for last-mile goods transportation. Powered by an 8.9 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery and an advanced PMS motor, it delivers an ARAI-certified range of 149 km on a single charge.
Price & Variants
Priced at ₹3.94 lakh (ex-showroom) in a single 2274/Cargo variant. Bajaj provides an onboard charger with a 3-pin 16 amp socket, so no heavy external charging unit is needed.
Battery & Range
The 8.9 kWh LFP pack is IP67-rated and supports a certified 149 km range. A full charge takes 4 hours 30 minutes, while 0-80 percent takes less than 3 hours. The Mera BAJAJ app provides access to a widespread charging network.
Performance
A 4.5 kW PMS motor producing 36 Nm of torque gives a top speed of 40 km/h. The automatic 2-speed transmission offers Eco and Power modes (30 km/h and 40 km/h respectively), with a maximum gradeability of 29 percent for climbing flyovers and inclines.
Dimensions & Practicality
The 2274 mm wheelbase and 1840 mm x 1425 mm x 275 mm cargo tray give a stable, high-volume platform for light goods such as milk cans, water bottles, e-commerce parcels, beverages and fruits and vegetables. Ground clearance is 180 mm, with a 65 sq ft loading platform.
Safety & Comfort
A regenerative braking system with sensing mechanism improves efficiency, while hill hold assist prevents rollback on slopes. The cabin features a digital instrument cluster with warnings, a 12V mobile charging port, speakers and a mobile holder, along with radial tubeless tyres of 130/80 R12.
