Deltic Star

The Deltic Star is a passenger e-rickshaw built by Delta Autocorp Limited (Deltic EV) for daily last-mile transport on Indian roads. It seats one driver and four passengers and is powered by a 1560W BLDC motor with a 60V battery pack.

Performance and range

The Star runs up to 125 km on a full charge under normal driving conditions, with a top speed capped at 24.96 km/h as per government norms for e-rickshaws. Its 1560W BLDC motor delivers smooth pickup with low noise and minimal maintenance.

Battery and charging

The 60V lead-acid battery (125-160 Ah across five units, Exide/Eastman) is charged through a 60V 15A SMPS charger, taking roughly 4-5 hours for a full charge. The charger is waterproof and protects against overcharging.

Build and comfort

A double-bonded mild-steel chassis, hydraulic telescopic front suspension and leaf-spring rear suspension give the Star a stable, comfortable ride. Front and rear drum brakes, a 2.32 m turning radius and 10-degree gradeability make it easy to drive in narrow streets and on flyovers.
