The Yamaha Aerox-E is Yamaha's first in-house electric maxi-scooter for India, launched in July 2026. It carries the aggressive, sporty design of the petrol-powered Aerox 155 into the EV space, wrapped in a single White colourway with green electric accents, and is priced at Rs 2.82 lakh (ex-showroom).

Price & Variants

The Aerox-E is offered in a single STD variant at Rs 2.82 lakh ex-showroom, making it Yamaha's most expensive two-wheeler in India at launch. There is a single White colourway, and the optional home charging dock costs an additional Rs 18,000.

Battery & Range

Twin removable 1.5 kWh Li-ion packs (3 kWh total) deliver a claimed IDC range of 117 km. The packs can be charged on the scooter or removed and charged at home, and the battery is covered by a 3-year or 30,000 km warranty. Real-world range is expected to sit well below the claimed figure.

Charging

Using the onboard charger, a single pack fills from 0-100% in 3 hours 10 minutes, while both packs take 6 hours 20 minutes. There is no DC fast-charging support, so charging is home-based rather than dependent on public fast chargers.

Performance & Features

A 9.4 kW PMSM motor with 48 Nm of torque drives the rear wheel via belt, with a claimed top speed of 96 km/h. Riders get Eco, Standard and Power ride modes, plus a 10-second Power Boost for instant acceleration. A 5-inch colour TFT console with turn-by-turn navigation, keyless smart key, single-channel ABS and traction control round out the feature list.

Ride & Who should buy it

Stable handling from 14-inch wheels and motorcycle-like cornering character are the highlights, though the twin battery packs eat into underseat storage. The Aerox-E suits style-led city riders who want Yamaha's sporty maxi-scooter character in electric form; value-focused buyers should weigh the premium price and the real-world range against cheaper petrol alternatives before buying.
