Vida VX2

The Hero Vida VX2 is a family-oriented electric scooter built for everyday commuting, with a swappable battery that can be charged at home like a phone. Prices start at ₹45,000 under Vida's Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan and go up to ₹1.21 lakh for the fully-owned VX2 Plus (ex-showroom), making it one of the more affordable e-scooters from a mainstream two-wheeler brand.

Battery and Range

All VX2 variants use a 6 kW PMSM motor (8 bhp) driving the rear wheel, with removable Li-ion battery packs in 2.2 kWh and 3.4 kWh sizes. Claimed IDC range is 92 km on the 2.2 kWh pack and up to 146 km on the 3.4 kWh pack. Both are manufacturer claims, so expect less in everyday city riding — still plenty for a daily commute either way.

Charging and Warranty

Because the battery is removable, you can charge it independently of the scooter using the included portable 1000W charger. A full charge takes about 3 hours 20 minutes on the 2.2 kWh pack and about 6 hours 40 minutes on the 3.4 kWh pack, with fast charging cutting that to around 2 hours on the base pack and about 2 hours 20 minutes on the larger one. The battery carries a 5-year/50,000 km warranty.

Performance and Features

Top speed is 70 km/h on the VX2 Go variants and 80 km/h on the VX2 Plus, with Eco and Ride modes on all versions and a Sport mode reserved for the Plus. Braking uses drums at both ends with a Combi Brake System (CBS), and the VX2 rides on 12-inch wheels with an adjustable mono-shock. A 4.3-inch digital console with Bluetooth phone connectivity, 33.2 litres of under-seat storage, 155 mm of ground clearance and regenerative braking complete the package, in Autumn Orange or Pearl Black.
