Sokudo Acute: a light, long-range city electric scooter
The Acute is Sokudo Electric India's high-speed scooter, built around a 3.1 kWh LFP battery and a 2300W brushless DC hub motor. The company claims up to 150 km on a full charge with a top speed of 70 km/h, which puts it squarely in daily-commute territory rather than the low-speed quota segment.
Motor, battery and charging
The hub motor keeps the unsprung weight down and needs no chain or belt to maintain. Charging happens through the onboard charger in about 3 to 4 hours from a regular home socket, and the 73.6 V LFP pack is rated for a 3-year battery warranty. Reverse gear, hill assist and walk assist come standard - features you normally see on scooters costing noticeably more.
Ride and handling
At 109 kg kerb, the Acute is one of the lighter scooters in its class, and that shows in city traffic and parking. A 165 mm ground clearance copes with typical Indian speed breakers, and 15-degree gradeability handles basement ramps and flyovers. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front with 90/90-12 tubeless tyres on alloy wheels, a front disc brake brings things to a halt, and load-carrying capacity is rated at 300 kg.
Features
You get all-LED lighting, a fully digital instrument console with odometer and tripmeter, side-stand alert and a low-battery indicator. Riding modes let you trade punch for range depending on the day.
Should you buy one?
If your running costs matter more than badge value, the Acute makes a strong case: honest claimed range, a light frame and a feature list that undercuts bigger names. The trade-offs are a rear drum brake and a service network that is still growing compared with the national players. Book a test ride and judge the real-world range against your own daily distance before you decide.
