Simple One

The Simple One is Simple Energy's flagship electric scooter from the Bengaluru-based EV maker. The current Gen 2 model was launched in January 2026 with an updated design, a lighter and denser battery pack, and more features than the original 2022 model.

Price & Variants

Priced from ₹1.95 lakh (ex-showroom), the Simple One is offered in a single 5 kWh variant. It competes with the Ather 450X in the premium performance-scooter segment.

Battery & Range

A 5 kWh IP67-rated Li-ion battery delivers a claimed ARAI range of 265 km. A 750W home charger takes 5 hours 20 minutes to charge the pack from 0 to 80%.

Performance

A PMSM motor produces 8.8 kW of peak power and 72 Nm of peak torque, good for a claimed top speed of 115 km/h and a 0-40 km/h sprint of 2.55 seconds. Six ride modes (Eco X, Eco, Ride, Air, Sonic, Sonic X) and four levels of regenerative braking are on offer.

Features & Safety

The Gen 2 gets a 7-inch TFT touchscreen console running Android, full navigation, traction control with four modes, hill-hold (Super Hold), cruise control, TPMS, geofencing and OTA updates. Braking is via a 200 mm front disc and 190 mm rear disc with CBS — ABS is not offered. Underseat storage is 35 litres.

Warranty

The Simple One carries a 3-year / 30,000 km vehicle and battery warranty, with extendable Simple Protect plans up to 8 years / 80,000 km.

Who Should Buy the Simple One

The Simple One is for riders who want premium performance-scooter capability — a claimed 265 km range, a 115 km/h top speed and a feature stack led by a 7-inch Android TFT — at a single, simple price point. It is a city-and-beyond scooter, though real-world range trails the ARAI figure and charging is AC-only via the 750W home charger, so a full top-up is an overnight affair. With no DC fast charging, plan long rides around charging stops rather than relying on quick top-ups.
