Fidato Evtech 21: a budget electric scooter that promised big range for under a lakh

The 21 sat near the top of Fidato Evtech's small line-up from Ghaziabad-based manufacturer Fidato Evtech Limited, which has built electric two-wheelers since 2019. It launched in March 2022 as a single-STD-variant scooter aimed at students and daily commuters who wanted a long claimed range without spending past Rs 1 lakh.

Motor, battery and claimed range

A brushless DC hub motor drives the rear wheel through automatic transmission, with a 40 km/h top speed that keeps it in city territory. Power comes from a 1.8 kWh lithium-ion pack on a 72 V architecture, charged by a normal home charger in about four to five hours; there is no fast-charging input. The company claimed 80 to 110 km per charge. Owners tell a more modest story: ZigWheels user-reported mileage averages 69 km per charge, and some riders report 45 to 50 km with a pillion or in stop-go traffic, so treat anything above 70 km as a best case.

Features you notice

All-digital instrument console with digital tripmeter Full LED lighting: headlamp, tail lamp and turn indicators Central locking with anti-theft alarm and push-button start USB charging port for a phone on the move

Brakes, suspension and dimensions

Disc brakes at both ends do the stopping duty; there is no ABS. A hydraulic front fork handles broken roads, and tubeless 90/100-12 tyres sit on 12-inch alloy wheels. The scooter measures 1850 mm long, 700 mm wide and 1160 mm tall, carries up to 200 kg and seats a single rider.

Price, warranty and one honest caveat

The single STD variant is listed here at Rs 94,049. The battery carries a 3-year or 20,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. The caveat matters before booking: BikeDekho, ZigWheels and MaxAbout all record the model as discontinued since October 2024, so confirm live stock and service support with your nearest dealer, of which roughly 35 across 29 cities remain.
