Ather Rizta

The Rizta's biggest strength is everyday usability: a 34-litre under-seat boot, a long dual-tone seat with pillion backrest, and a 7-inch display in both trims. At 125 kg kerb weight and a 780 mm seat height it stays easy to manage in city traffic, and the telescopic front + monoshock rear setup keeps rides comfortable over broken roads. It reads less like a performance EV and more like a well-thought-out daily runabout for a two-scooter household.

Ather offers the Rizta with 2.9 kWh (123 km IDC) and 3.7 kWh (161 km IDC) packs, but IDC figures are optimistic — real-world range tends to land closer to 100-105 km and 120-125 km respectively. Home charging (0-80%) takes about 6 hours on the smaller pack and roughly 3 hours 12 minutes on the larger one, so plan around overnight charging rather than top-ups. The 3.7 kWh pack is worth the premium mainly for riders doing 40+ km a day.

Motor output (4.3 kW / 22 Nm), 80 km/h top speed and CBS braking are identical across S and Z trims, so the extra spend on the Z buys software and convenience — a TFT touchscreen with Google Maps navigation versus the S's simpler DeepView LCD, plus extras like document storage and remote lock. Riders who mainly want an EV that just works can save with the S; those who value the connected-app experience should budget for the Z.
