It was priced at Rs 50.1 lakh (ex-showroom) for the single Plus variant before Volvo discontinued it in India as of June 2026. Range and charging

Volvo claims an ARAI range of 475 km from the 69 kWh pack, driven through a single rear-mounted motor making 238 bhp and 420 Nm of torque. On a 150 kW CCS2 DC fast charger, a 0-80% top-up takes about 40 minutes, while the included 11 kW AC wall charger fills the battery in roughly 8-10 hours. That 150 kW peak charge rate makes highway top-ups genuinely practical.

Performance and driving

The EX40 reaches 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and tops out at 180 km/h. One-pedal drive with adjustable regenerative braking puts the single-pedal experience front and centre, and the rear-wheel-drive layout keeps it stable and relaxed on the highway. With a 4,440 mm length and 2,702 mm wheelbase, it is sized for city use without feeling cramped.

Inside, a 9-inch Google-built-in touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon system and wireless phone charging keep the cabin premium.
