The Volvo EX30 is Volvo's smallest and most affordable fully electric SUV in India, sold here in a single, fully-loaded EX30 RWD Ultra variant priced at Rs 41.00 lakh (ex-showroom). Launched in September 2025 and built via CKD assembly at Volvo's Hosakote plant near Bengaluru, it pairs compact, sub-4.3-metre dimensions with Scandinavian minimalism and a strong safety story.
Battery, Range & Charging
A 69 kWh lithium-ion battery drives a rear-mounted motor producing 272 hp and 343 Nm, with a WLTP-claimed range of 480 km. DC fast charging tops the pack from 10-80% in about 26 minutes at up to 175 kW, while the 11 kW AC wallbox takes around 7 hours for a full charge.
Performance & Driving
The rear-wheel-drive EX30 does 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 180 km/h. One-pedal drive and regenerative braking are built in, and 171 mm of ground clearance suits everyday Indian roads.
Space & Features
At 4233 mm long, 1838 mm wide and 1550 mm tall on a 2650 mm wheelbase, it seats five with a 318-litre boot. The cabin is built around a 12.3-inch Google built-in touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, a panoramic glass roof, 2-zone climate control and connected features through Volvo Connect Plus.
Safety & Warranty
Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, ESP, TPMS and a reversing camera are standard. Volvo backs the EX30 with an 8-year / 160,000 km battery warranty and a 3-year vehicle warranty.
Who should buy it
The EX30 suits buyers who want a compact, quick, well-equipped premium EV that is easy to park and cheap to run, without paying for a large SUV. Its 480 km WLTP range and fast charging make it a practical daily driver, though the rear seats suit occasional passengers better than full-size adults.
