The Vayve Mobility Eva is India's first solar-assisted electric city car, unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Built around a compact 2-door micro-hatchback body with a monocoque chassis, it seats 2 adults and 1 child and is designed for nimble urban commutes. Priced from Rs 3.99 lakh to Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom) across the Nova, Stella and Vega variants, it also offers a battery-subscription (BaaS) option starting at Rs 3.25 lakh plus Rs 2/km. Pre-bookings are currently closed and Vayve states deliveries will begin in a phase-wise manner in 2027 once showrooms open.

Eva range and charging

The Eva is offered with LFP battery packs of 9 kWh (Nova), 12.6 kWh (Stella) and 18 kWh (Vega), claiming real-world ranges of 125 km, 175 km and 250 km respectively. Its solar roof adds up to 3,000 km of driving per year. AC home charging on the included 15A portable charger takes about 5 hours (10-90%), while the top-spec Vega adds CCS2 DC fast charging that tops the pack up from 10-70% in about 20 minutes.

Eva performance and driving

A rear-wheel-drive permanent-magnet synchronous motor produces 12 kW (16.09 bhp) on the Nova and Stella and 15 kW (20.11 bhp) on the Vega, with 40 Nm of torque and 0-40 km/h in 5 seconds. Top speed is 70 km/h on the Vega and 60 km/h on the lower variants, with three drive modes (Eco, Eco-City, Eco-City-Sport), regenerative braking, hill hold and a 3,900 mm turning radius that make it easy to thread through city traffic.

Eva practicality and features

Measuring 2,950 mm long, 1,200 mm wide and 1,590 mm tall on a 2,100 mm wheelbase with 170 mm ground clearance, the Eva offers 300 litres of flexible storage. Equipment includes AC, power windows, power steering and a connected-car app across the range; Stella and Vega add a panoramic sunroof, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a reverse camera and climate control, while the Vega tops out with a driver airbag, TPMS, a chilled glovebox and front disc brakes.

Who should buy the Vayve Eva

The Eva suits city commuters who want the weather protection of a car at a price close to a premium two-wheeler, especially buyers who can charge at home and take advantage of the solar roof. It is not a highway vehicle — the 70 km/h top speed and 2+1 seating are aimed squarely at dense urban use. Anyone who needs a full four-seater or regular high-speed runs should look at larger electric hatchbacks instead.
