Range and charging
On the 30 kWh pack the Punch EV claims 375 km, and on the 40 kWh pack up to 468 km; real-world range typically lands in the 260-350 km band depending on pack and driving conditions. A 65 kW DC fast charger takes it from 20-80% in about 26 minutes on either pack, while a full home charge takes roughly 11.9 hours on the 30 kWh pack and 14.8 hours on the 40 kWh pack via a 15A socket.
Performance and driving
The 30 kWh cars make 87 bhp and 154 Nm with a 13.5-second 0-100 km/h time, adequate for unhurried city driving, while the 40 kWh cars step up to 127 bhp and do 0-100 km/h in about 9 seconds. Front-wheel drive, a single-speed transmission and City, Eco and Sport drive modes keep it simple and city-friendly, with 195 mm of ground clearance.
Practicality and features
Five seats and a 366-litre boot with a 2445 mm wheelbase keep the Punch EV practical for a compact SUV. Equipment climbs from an 8-inch touchscreen on Smart Plus trims to a 10.25-inch display, digital instrument cluster, sunroof and ventilated seats on the top Empowered Plus S 40. Five dual-tone colours are offered.

First-time EV owners and city commuters who value safety and value for money, since a sub-10-lakh starting price with a 5-star rating is rare. The 40 kWh cars suit buyers who want quicker pace and longer range, and the 40 kWh pack carries a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner. If you need faster than 65 kW DC charging or a bigger boot, look elsewhere.
