The Mercedes-Benz G-Class Electric (G 580 with EQ Technology) is the electrified flagship of the iconic G-Wagen lineage, launched in India on 9 January 2025 at Rs 3.10 crore (ex-showroom). It pairs the boxy, go-anywhere silhouette that made the G-Class a design icon with a quad-motor all-wheel-drive electric powertrain.

Priced at Rs 3.10 crore (ex-showroom) in the G 580 trim, with Edition One, AMG Line, Manufaktur and Night Package derivations. It sits above the G 400d in the local G-Class range and below the AMG G 63, and is offered in five exterior colours.

Battery & Range

A 116 kWh lithium-ion battery delivers a claimed 473 km WLTP range. Charging is via an 11 kW AC wall box (0-100% in about 11.7 hours) or 200 kW DC fast charging, replenishing 10-80% in about 32 minutes over a CCS-II port.

Performance & Off-Road

Four electric motors (one per wheel) produce 587 PS (579 bhp) and 1,164 Nm of torque, sprinting 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds to an electronically limited 180 km/h. The quad-motor setup enables the signature 360-degree 'G-Turn' tank turn and precise torque vectoring off-road, aided by 250 mm of ground clearance.

The cabin combines open-pore walnut wood and Nappa leather with dual 12.3-inch displays (driver cluster and MBUX infotainment), a Burmester sound system, 360-degree camera, ambient lighting and wireless phone charging.
