The Carens Clavis EV is offered with a 42 kWh pack rated at 404 km and a 51.4 kWh long-range pack rated at 490 km on the ARAI cycle. On a 100 kW DC fast charger it gains 10-80% in about 39 minutes, while a full 10-100% charge takes around 4 hours 45 minutes on an 11 kW AC home charger. The charging port is CCS-II, the standard for public fast charging in India.
Performance and driving
Power comes from a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor making 133 bhp on the standard pack and 169 bhp on the ER variants, with 255 Nm of torque available instantly. The long-range trims sprint from 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds. Three drive modes — Eco, City and Sport — let you trade range for response, and regenerative braking with i-Pedal one-pedal driving recovers energy in stop-go traffic.
Practicality and features
It is a genuine 7-seater, with a 6-seat captain-chair layout offered on select trims, and it measures 4550 mm long with a 2780 mm wheelbase and 200 mm of ground clearance. Safety and comfort are well covered: 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, dual 12.25-inch screens, ventilated front seats and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) support on higher trims. The battery is covered for 8 years or 1,60,000 km, with a 3-year vehicle warranty.

The Kia Carens Clavis EV is for large families that need three rows and a practical daily driver, and that have home or office charging. It is one of the few electric 7-seaters in this price bracket, so if you mostly drive short city hops the smaller 42 kWh pack keeps the price down without sacrificing seating.
