The Citroen eC3 is the all-electric version of the C3 hatchback, launched in India in February 2023 as Citroen's first EV in the country. It pairs a 29.2 kWh lithium-ion battery with a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 57 PS (56.22 bhp) and 143 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels through a single-speed automatic gearbox.

Price and Variants

The eC3 is priced from Rs 12.90 lakh to Rs 13.53 lakh (ex-showroom) across Feel, Shine, Shine Dual Tone, Shine Vibe Pack and Shine Vibe Pack Dual Tone trims. The model has since been discontinued in favour of the Citroen eC3 X, so availability is limited to dealer stock and the used market.

Battery and Range

The 29.2 kWh pack offers a claimed ARAI/MIDC range of 320 km. DC fast charging via CCS-II tops up 10-80% in 57 minutes, while a standard 15A plug point charges the battery fully (10-100%) in about 10 hours 30 minutes. Regenerative braking is standard.

Performance and Features

The eC3 has a top speed of 107 km/h with a light, comfortable city feel, and a claimed 320 km range that is among the best in its class. Inside, it gets a 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a semi-digital instrument cluster, power steering and a reverse camera.

Dimensions and Safety

Measuring 3981 mm x 1733 mm x 1586 mm with a 2540 mm wheelbase, the eC3 offers 315 litres of boot space and 180 mm of ground clearance. Safety kit comprises two airbags and ABS with EBD.

Who should buy it

The eC3 is best treated as a town car rather than an intercity tourer: a full charge from a standard plug takes over ten hours, the 107 km/h top speed feels limited on highways, and real-world range trails the claimed figure. As a discontinued model it still delivers good value on the used market for buyers who want a roomy, comfortable, low-maintenance city EV.
