Speego E-Rickshaw

The Speego E-Rickshaw is a popular low-speed electric passenger carrier built for last-mile shared mobility across Indian cities. Sold by Speego Vehicles, one of the established players in the e-rickshaw segment, it combines a sturdy 3-wheeler body with a simple, low-maintenance electric powertrain.

Passenger Carrier Design

With a D+4 seating layout, the Speego E-Rickshaw seats the driver plus up to four passengers. Its compact 2780 mm length, 1000 mm width and 1760 mm height let it negotiate narrow lanes and crowded markets where larger vehicles cannot go. A 7.2 metre turning radius makes U-turns and tight parking easy.

Electric Performance

The e-rickshaw is powered by a BLDC hub motor with a 48V electrical system. It is a certified L3M low-speed passenger carrier with a 25 km/h top speed, so no driving licence is required to operate it in most states. On a full charge it delivers a range of up to 90 km, enough for a full day of short city trips.

Charging and Running Costs

Charging the battery pack takes about 8 to 10 hours from a standard home socket. Running on electricity rather than fuel keeps daily operating costs a fraction of petrol or diesel three-wheelers, which matters most for a vehicle that earns its living every day.

Suspension and Ride Comfort

Helical springs with hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers up front and leaf springs with rear shockers at the back give the Speego E-Rickshaw a reasonably stable ride on typical Indian roads. Drum brakes all round, controlled through a combined lever, provide reliable stopping for city speeds.
