The Mahindra Treo Plus is the extended-range electric auto-rickshaw (L5M high-speed passenger carrier) from Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, priced between Rs 3.69 lakh and Rs 3.78 lakh across the 2073/SFT and 2073/HRT variants. It is the bigger-battery sibling of the best-selling Treo, built for city and semi-urban auto drivers who want to run a full shift without a mid-day charging stop.
Range and charging
A best-in-class 10.24 kWh lithium-ion (48 V) battery delivers an ARAI-certified range of 167 km (around 150 km in real-world conditions), enough for roughly 25 to 30 trips a day. A full charge takes about 4 hours 30 minutes on a standard home socket, so the auto can be plugged in overnight and be ready before the morning shift. The battery is covered by a 5-year / 120,000 km warranty.
Performance and payload
An 8 kW motor producing 42 Nm of peak torque takes the Treo Plus to 55 km/h on Boost mode, with 12-degree gradeability and Hill Hold Assist to prevent rollback on flyover ramps. The D+3 cabin seats the driver and three passengers with generous legroom on a 2,073 mm wheelbase, while 142 mm of ground clearance handles speed bumps and rough patches. Gross vehicle weight is 720 kg and the 2.9 m turning radius keeps it agile in narrow bazaar lanes.
Who should buy it
The Treo Plus suits auto owners who run long daily routes and need the extra range to avoid charging stops, or fleet operators standardising on low-maintenance electric 3-wheelers. With over 800 Mahindra touchpoints and 5-year / 120,000 km warranty coverage, it is a strong value pick in the electric auto segment.
