Jangid DLX Prime E-Rickshaw

The Jangid DLX Prime E-Rickshaw is a low-speed electric passenger carrier in the L3M class, sold as a four-seater e-rickshaw for short city and neighbourhood routes. It is a fully built three-wheeler with a Day Cabin and handle-bar steering, and Jangid lists it at around ₹1.22 Lakh, which makes it one of the more affordable passenger e-rickshaws on the market.

Battery and charging

The Prime runs on a 100 Ah battery pack at 48 V, which works out to about 4.8 kWh of stored energy, and Jangid quotes a range of 120 km on a full charge. As a low-speed carrier there is no DC fast charging; a full charge from a standard home socket takes 3-4 hours, which fits a quick overnight or mid-day top-up routine.

Performance and load

Power comes from a 1 hp electric motor that puts out 22 Nm of torque, driving the rear axle through a one-forward, one-reverse gearbox. Top speed is capped at 23 km/h, in line with low-speed passenger carrier rules. The Prime is rated for a gross vehicle weight of 693 kg, and its 1800 mm wheelbase and 2765 mm body length keep it compact for narrow lanes. Drum brakes with ABS come as standard, while hydraulic fork suspension front and rear smooths out potholed roads.

Who it is for

The Prime targets first-time e-rickshaw owners and small fleet operators running fixed short passenger routes, such as market-to-market trips and last-mile feeder runs. The low top speed keeps it in the cheap-to-operate L3M class, and the five-person layout (driver plus four) matches the standard e-rickshaw configuration used across Indian cities.
