The Jangid DLX King X5 is a low-speed electric passenger carrier built to the L3M class, sold as a four-seater e-rickshaw for short city and neighbourhood routes. It is a fully built three-wheeler with a Day Cabin, a handle-bar steering set-up and a 48 V electrical system, and Jangid lists it at around ₹1.35 Lakh, which puts it firmly in the affordable passenger e-rickshaw segment.
Battery and charging
The DLX King X5 runs on a 150 Ah battery pack at 48 V, which works out to about 7.2 kWh of stored energy. It is a low-speed carrier, so there is no DC fast charging on offer; a full charge from a standard home socket takes 6-8 hours, which suits an overnight charging routine. That is typical of the lead-acid-based packs used across this segment, where keeping the upfront price down matters more than charging speed.
Performance and load
Power comes from a 1 hp motor driving the rear axle through a one-forward, one-reverse gearbox. Top speed is capped at 25 km/h, in line with low-speed passenger carrier rules, and the DLX King X5 is rated for a gross vehicle weight of 500 kg with a kerb weight of 450 kg. The wheelbase is 2125 mm and the body is 2750 mm long, which keeps it compact enough for narrow lanes. Drum brakes all round and leaf-spring suspension front and rear are tuned for potholed Indian roads.
Who it is for
The DLX King X5 targets first-time e-rickshaw owners and small fleet operators running fixed short-distance passenger routes, such as market-to-market trips and last-mile feeder runs. The low top speed keeps it in the cheap-to-operate L3M class, and the 5-person layout (driver plus four) matches the standard e-rickshaw configuration used across Indian cities.
