E-Maggic Plus

The E-Maggic Plus is a fully built electric passenger auto rickshaw from E-Maggic, priced at Rs 3.45 lakh (ex-showroom). It is an L3M low-speed passenger carrier that seats a driver plus four passengers, making it a practical last-mile ride-hailing or shared-transport vehicle for city streets.

Range and charging

The Plus runs on a 100 Ah lithium-ion battery pack at 48 V (about 4.8 kWh) and claims a range of 80 km on a single charge. A full charge from a standard socket takes about 4 to 5 hours, which suits overnight home or depot charging. At a governed top speed of 25 km/h, the range is best used across short city duty cycles rather than long inter-city runs.

Performance and payload

A 1200 W BLDC motor drives the rear wheel, with a mechanical drum brake and hydraulic heavy duty front shock absorbers plus a leaf spring rear suspension for load absorption. The Plus has a GVW of 380 kg and a kerb weight of 337 kg, a turning radius of 2900 mm and a wheelbase of 2170 mm, which keeps it agile in narrow lanes. Its gradeability of 12 per cent helps on gentle ramps and flyover approaches.
